Welcome to Hudson

Clock Tower of Hudson, Ohio.

Hudson’s historic clock tower.

Welcome to Hudson, Ohio – the place my family and I have called home for the past ten years.  With a population of roughly 23,000, I personally view Hudson as a small town rather than a city, but regardless of what you call it, it is a delightful place to live and visit.

Hudson is known for it’s quaint, historic feel which is best represented by the city’s most recognizable landmark and symbol – our red brick clocktower that stands over 44 feet all.

The city founded by David Hudson is situated in northeast Ohio about halfway between Akron and Cleveland. It is also within biking distance to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, our country’s 13th most visited National Park.  So whether you’re a city lover, outdoor enthusiast, or both – you can find plenty to do within an easy 30-minute drive of Hudson.

While proximity to Cleveland and Akron are certainly part of the appeal of Hudson, don’t think you have to head out to find something to do as there is plenty to keep you busy right in town.

Indeed, Hudson is somewhat unique. It is known as a great family town, abounding in kids and the corresponding sports teams, clubs and school events, but it is simultaneously a popular destination town, offering a variety of shops, local restaurants, and special community events that draw visitors from the surrounding area.

I look forward to sharing more information and local insight on all that Hudson has to offer in future posts.
